Nerdcore rap reminds me that there is a genre for everything

One of the results of a hyper-networked (fully Internetted) culture is that many if not all acts of creativity, if they are recorded in some fashion, will quickly succumb to the glory and gutting of categorization. Case in point: nerdcore. The BBC’s report seems a bit late, but it’s (sadly) the first I’ve heard of labeling what I used to vaguely wave at and say, without much subtle interpretation, “ironic rapping.”
